Power distribution network operators to pay compensations for breaking quality parameters
The operators that do not respect the minimum quality parameters when transporting and distributing electric power will be penalized by reducing the transportation and distribution tariffs or forcing them to pay compensations to the affected end-users, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE).
According to the communiqué, the ANRE has the right to decrease the power transportation and distribution tariffs by up to 5%.
If the power distribution network operator does not end the planned or unplanned interruption to the power supply on time, it will have to pay compensations to the consumers affected by the interruption. The compensation will be paid after the consumers make a written request. Its size will depend on the length of the interruption – between 20 and 200 lei for household users, 200 and 2,000 lei for non-household users with an installed power lower or equal to 100 kW, and between 500 and 5,000 lei for non-household users with an installed power higher than 100 kW. The same compensations will be paid if the operator exceeds the number of interruptions allowed during a year.
If the power distribution network operator exceeds the term for dealing with consumers’ applications concerning the violation of the quality parameters, it will have to pay compensations of 25% of the value of the power consumption recorded since the application was registered until the notified irregularities are removed. If the applicants are not connected to the power supply within four calendar day and reconnected within two calendar days, the compensations will represent 25% of the connection/reconnection tax for every overdue day.
The compensations are paid within 30 calendar days of the day the consumer submits the application to the operator. They can be also considered as advance for the electricity consumed by the user.
