Public-sector employees as from June 22 can apply for compensations within the “First House” program. The regulations concerning the provision of compensations were published in the Official Gazette. The state will compensate 50% din of the home loan for purchasing a dwelling of at most 600,000 lei, IPN reports.

Under the regulations, compensations are offered to employees of the public authorities and institutions funded with money from the national public budget, employees of public health facilities and higher education establishments with financial autonomy who have worked for at least one year in the public sector and haven’t been disciplinarily penalized at the workplace.

The compensation will be paid monthly over a period of 25 years until the home loan is fully repaid. If the loan is repaid beforehand, the offering of the compensation will be stopped when they beneficiary pays the last instalment.

The applications for compensations can be submitted through an online register available on www.primacasa.gov.md, the division “First House Compensations”.

So far, the “First House” program was accessed by 146 persons. The provided guarantees came to over 35 million lei. The homes bought within the program should be available for occupancy and registered in the Real Estate Register.
