Socialist MP Bogdan Țîrdea admitted that the “Action and Solidary” Party’s decision to support a Socialist nominee for Speaker is unexpected for the Party of Socialists. At the discussions held by ACUM and the PSRM one day earlier, there was seen no signal that such a decision will be taken. The issue was developed in the program “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.
Bogdan Țîrdea stated that in the meeting of ACUM and the PSRM, one of the constituent parties of the Bloc was more constructive than the other one. “Today we should admit that the PAS took a constructive decision. We surely welcome such a decision as, regardless of the result of this political step and the further negotiation process, this reveals particular responsibility and wish to break at least somehow the political stalemate,” noted the Socialist.
He added the PSRM together with the PAS have 49 seats of MP and two more votes for adopting decisions in Parliament can be yet found. They expect the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” will adopt a similarly constructive approach.
PAS MP Vladimir Bolea said the members of their party have a pragmatic, Western approach to politics and see what is going on in Moldova and the decision taken by the party’s National Political Council is based on the wish to start to solve the problems.
“Even if we declared we will vote for a Socialist candidate, we may not reach consensus on other problems. There could be formed no coalition. But the fact that we started this discussions shows our wish to solve the problems,” stated the politician.
On June 5, the National Political Council of the PAS decided it will vote for the Socialist Party’s nominee for Parliament Speaker by a 46 to 1 vote. The Standing Political Bureau of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” took notice of the decision of the National Political Council of the PAS and decided to convoke its National Political Council for June 6. The hour and place of the meeting weren’t made public.
