Communist lawmakers boycott Parliament sittings

The Communist MPs boycott again the sittings of the legislative body. The head of the Communist parliamentary group Maria Postoiko said they protest against the ruling alliance’s refusal to include the Communist lawmakers’ proposals in the agenda of the meetings, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Communist group put forward four bills – regarding the setting of the presidential election day, the constitution of a commission for organizing the election, and the firing of the director of the Security and Information Service and the Prosecutor General. After the Communist MPs left, Acting President Marian Lupu stated that the sitting is adjourned until tomorrow as a quorum is not present. The Communist group had boycotted the Parliament’s sittings since June, when the results of the local elections were announced, and until the start of the autumn-winter session. They argued they returned to the meetings because the protracted political crisis must be resolved as soon as possible.
