Dorin Chirtoaca did not allow the construction of a Disney Land in Chisinau under a public-private partnership, the candidate of the Law and Justice Party Marcel Darie said in a news conference on Tuesday, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to the candidate, in the 2007 election campaign Dorin Chirtoaca promised to build playgrounds, but forgot about his promises when he became a mayor. Moreover, he hindered other projects for children, submitted from outside the City Hall. Marcel Darie said that four years ago, a limited liability company of which members of his family formed part decided to construct a recreational area for children in Botanica district, on an area of five hectares. The area was to be adapted to the weather conditions – recreational park in summer, and skating rink in winter. Marcel Darie said the costs assessed at €3 million were to be covered by the company. The City Hall had only to lease out a plot of five hectares for a period of 15 years. This would have yielded additional revenues to the municipal budget. The Law and Justice Party’s candidate stated that Dorin Chirtoaca told him to go to deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu, who said he will give his consent on one condition – a person close to him should hold 10% of the investor’s shares. Marcel Darie refused to accept this condition. The candidate also said that Chisinau residents daily reports cases of corruption among City Hall officials to the party and the hotline launched by the party. He came to the conference accompanied by a pensioner, Maria Cravcesco, who said that she had to pay 600 lei bribe to the head of the Urbanism Certificates Division Maria Grozavu - the wife of Nistor Grozavu. The woman said that she had gone to the City Hall for three years, asking that she be issued with documents legalizing an annex to her house. In order to solve the problem, Maria Grozavu asked 600 lei from her. The case presented in the news conference is the fifth episode of the “Corruption Octopus at City Hall – Witnesses and Evidence”, which is an electoral action initiated by Marcel Darie.
