First ten candidates on PLDM’s list for parliamentary elections

The list of candidates of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) for the November 30 parliamentary elections is topped by the party’s chairman Vlad Filat. He is followed by Prime Minister Iurie Leanca. The top ten candidates also include Deputy Parliament Speaker Liliana Palihovici, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman, Minister of Education Maia Sandu, MP Valeriu Strelet, ASEM rector Grigore Belostecinic, deputy chairman of the PLDM Vadim Pistrinciuc, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Carpov, the PLDM’s secretary general Victor Rosca, and the rector of the Public Administration Academy Oleg Balan, IPN reports.

Vlad Filat said the list was compiled based on the proposals submitted by the party’s local organizations and on the principle of proportional representation of women and young people. “Our approach was a complex one as we wanted the whole election list of the PLDM to include people with real capacities and possibilities not only of achieving a good result in elections, but also of appropriately governing the country, which is more important,” he stated.

“The PLDM will take part in the elections united, with real chances of obtaining enough seats for ensuring a pro-European government together with other democratic parties.”

For his part, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, the first deputy chairman of the PLDM, said the Liberal Democratic Party is a united and professional team that can ensure the country’s advancement to a prosperous European future.

On October 3, the PLDM will submit the documents required for the party to be registered as an election runner to the Central Election Commission.
