Grecheanyi heads PSRM’s list of candidates for Parliament

Former Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanyi opens the list of 103 candidates fielded by the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) for seats of MP.  The party’s leader Igor Dodon is the second on the list, followed by the ex-chairman of the PSRM, engineer Eduard Smirnov. The list will be submitted to the Central Election Commission on October 3, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the party.

The PSRM’s list of candidates continues with MP Ion Ceban, Moldova’s former Ambassador to Russia Andrei Neguta, deputy in the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia Fiodor Gagauz, the party’s executive secretary Vlad Batrincea, jurist Alla Dolinta, the head of the United Moldova Party Vladimir Turcan, and politologist Bogdan Tirdea.

In a news conference, Igor Dodon said the average age of the candidates is 39 years. Eighty candidates are men, while 23 are women. By occupation, most of the candidates are economists, jurists, framers and engineers. Fifty-six of the candidates are Moldovans, 21 are Ukrainians, ten are Russians and the others are of other nationalities

Igor Dodon noted that the Socialists will not conduct a dirty election campaign and called on the people not to yield to emotions and attempts to corrupt them when they will decide who to vote for.

On October 3, the Central Election Commissions starts to register parties and blocs as contenders in the November 30 legislative elections.
