The leader of the Alternative Democratic Platform (PAD) Mihai Godea called on the PLDM not to allow the formation of alliances with the PCRM. On July 14, he made a call to his former colleagues from the PLDM, urging them to show courage and responsibly, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The situation in the country is rather tense as the ruling alliance does not have a common stance on the formation of local alliances. Moreover, three alliances in districts were made by the votes of the PLDM and PCRM. I suspect that this is the result of an agreement between Vlad Filat and Vladimir Voronin,” Mihai Godea said in a news conference. According to the lawmaker, the heads of the PLDM and PCRM had several more meetings besides the one that was made public. “Why was the PLDM politically isolated? Why the PCRM is the only party that understands and appreciates the PLDM? Where did the slogans “Moldova without Voronin, Moldova without Communists” go? If the PLDM merges with the PCRM, it will be too late and dangerous to oppose such a move,” said Mihai Godea. He criticized the message that the Premier made public after he had consultations with society. “The opinion leaders and society expected to hear the results of the consultations. But they saw a weak Prime Minister who played the role of a political commentator, not of citizen and politician who bears responsibility for the good functioning of the executive and the implementation of the government program,” said Mihai Godea. He also said that civil society should exert pressure on the Premier and all the members of the Government so that they focus on the reform objectives. In order to remedy the situation, it is not enough to re-form the Government. A complex, honest and responsible approach to the main problems faced by society and the state is needed, said the lawmaker. Vlad Filat’s message delivered after the consultations contained mainly criticism of some of the ministers, who, instead of working for the people, make statements for show, according to the Premier. Filat said the termination of the dialogue with the opposition was one of the biggest mistakes made by the AEI.
