Parliamentary commission to examine situation in entire banking system
The parliamentary commission of inquiry into the situation at Banca de Economii, which was instituted by Parliament by a new vote, will examine the state of affairs in the entire banking system, not only at the bank. Such a condition was imposed by the Liberal-Democratic MPs, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Within 30 days, the commission will present a report on how the state holing in Banca de Economii was managed, while in another 60 days – a second report on the situation in the banking system and on the measures taken by the National Bank to improve the system.
The commission will have nine members – four Communist MPs, three Lib-Dems, one Liberal lawmaker and one Democratic lawmaker. Oleg Reidman will be the commission’s chairman, while
Valeriu Guma its secretary.
