MP Vlad Plahotniuc, the deputy chairman of the Democratic Party, reiterated that he is not monitored by Interpol. In a press briefing, the politician said that Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean didn’t have the right to furnish the press with such information as his image was damaged, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vlad Plahotniuc admitted that he was monitored by Interpol during the Communist rule in 2007, but he is no longer monitored. He said he attracted Interpol’s attention after he landed by a charter plane in an area in northern Italy, where Russian businessmen purchased realty. In this connection, he stressed that he does not have property outside Moldova’s borders.
Dorin Recean rendered a report on the monitoring of Interpol in the February 22 sitting of Parliament. At the suggestion of the minister, the report was examined behind closed doors. Vlad Plahotniuc said Dorin Recean should have been more discreet earlier too, when he made statements for the press.
