The Political Party “Our Party” (PPPN) has announced the suspension of the activity of the tents town put up in front of the Parliament Building in September 2015. The decision was taken following a request from the Chisinau City Hall to free the area in connection with rehabilitation works on Stefan cel Mare Blvd, IPN reports.
“After analyzing this request, “Our Party” decided to allow carrying out repair works and to temporarily stop the activity of the tents town. The activity of the tents town is important, being independent from political struggles, but the main artery of Chisinau must be repaired,” it is said in a press release of the PPPN.
The party also says that the activists and supporters of the PPPN remain on the position that the protests must be continued. “We continue to prepare for a new stage of protests against the illegal regime,” reads the press release.
Earlier, the Party of Socialists announced that it decided to take down the tents pitched in front of the Parliament Building. A court obliged the Platform “Dignity and Truth” to take away the tents from the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau, but the decision can be yet appealed to a higher court.
