Renato Usatyi: A referendum is needed for citizens to say if they want snap elections

Snap parliamentary elections can not only save Moldova, but can also direct the country on a correct path of development so that it becomes a state governed by law in the true sense of the word, said the leader of Our Party Renato Usatyi.

In a press conference, the politician noted that a national referendum is needed for the citizens to say whether or not they want snap parliamentary elections to be held.

Renato Usatyi asked the President’s Office and Parliament to say if they are ready to initiate a consultative referendum on snap elections. If there is no response, the citizens should quickly collect more than 100,000 signatures to initiate a referendum this summer.

Renato Usatyi also said that the President’s Office, with the involvement of some of the MPs, is working hard to rig the presidential election so that Maia Sandu wins the first round of voting. For the purpose, they aim to do so that the Moldovans who settled in Canada and the U.S. can vote by mail. Postal voting is not welcome because it is introduced in a hurry in order to secure a new term in office for Maia Sandu.
