Silvio Berlusconi: We will continue to support Moldova in its European integration efforts
Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi urged the Government of Moldova to go on with the efforts to come closer to the EU started this year. “We will continue to support Moldova in these efforts and will actively engage in identifying a solution to the Transnistrian conflict,” Silvio Berlusconi said in a meeting with Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat in Rome, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Government’s press service, the Italian Premier spoke about the forthcoming legislative elections in Moldova, saying the reforms launched by the Government this year should be carried on.
The two Premiers discussed the agreement reached by the Moldovan Premier and Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini to hold a Moldovan-Italian business forum and create a Business Council that would facilitate the establishment of close ties between companies from the two states.
The officials stressed the necessity of signing bilateral agreements on the social protection of the citizens, migrants and children.
