Trade talks with EU launched officially

The talks on the creation of a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Moldova and the European Union were opened officially in Brussels on December 12, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Government’s press service. Attending the ceremony, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said the launch of the talks represents a new stage in the cooperation between Moldovan and the EU. “It is a long-awaited event for Moldova as considerable effort was made for this to happen, including a series of reforms have been implemented, in accordance with the recommendations made by the European Commission last November. We cooperated intensely with out partners in Brussels. This year alone, we presented four detailed reports on the measures taken at internal level,” stated the Premier. He assured that Moldova will fully implement the recommendations that will be made in the talks and voiced hope that the process will enjoy the same dynamism and constructivism as the negotiation of the Association Agreement and the Agreement on the Creation of a Common Aviation Area. For his part, European Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht said the opening of the trade talks will lead to the development of the relations between Moldova and the EU.
