140 attempts to copy in second Baccalaureate exam

About 140 attempts to copy were reported as a result of the second Baccalaureate exam, in the language of learning, Deputy Minister of Education Igor Grosu said in a press briefing. The candidates caught copying will be able to take the exam next year, IPN reports.

“The system aimed at ensuring the correctness of the exams works, despite all the attempts made to copy,” said the deputy minster.

According to Igor Grosu, even if the paper questions were transmitted out of the examination centers, an insignificant number of candidates attempted to copy. They were identified and penalized.

“We reiterate out determination to correctly organize the Baccalaureate exams and are convinced that all the teachers, heads of examination centers and the people are near us in this effort aimed at making a correct hierarchy of values, based on work and merit, not on cheating,” said the deputy minister.

He didn’t answer the journalists’ questions and didn’t say how the answers to the tests could appear on the Internet at the second exam already this session.

In the first Baccalaureate exam, in the Romanian language and literature for other language speaking students, there were annulled 65 tests because the candidates tried to cheat. The third exam, in the foreign language, will be sat on June 11.
