The rain started to cause havoc. Fifteen houses, cellars and basements have been flooded in Cahul last night and this morning, September 12. Rescuers have lent a hand to five households and will help the others during the day, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan has told IPN.

At about 10pm, 20 vehicles got stuck at the exit from Cahul. After the rescuers intervened, 46 persons were able to continue their way.
