€2 000 for post of train conductor
The conductor of a train running on the Chisinau-Moscow route is suspected of taking €2 000 bribe for helping a 27-year-old man occupy a post similar to his, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the website of the Ministry of the Interior.
According to the information received by the police, an employee of the state-run Moldova’s Railways promised a young man that he will help him obtain the post of conductor as he has influence on officials of the institution.
The conductor aged 52 from the municipality of Chisinau was caught in the act of taking the €2 000 marked ‘bribe’ near a shopping center in Centru district. He faces a fine of 20 000 to 60 000 lei or up to seven years’ imprisonment.
