€2 000 for post of train conductor
A train conductor of Moldova’s Railways was arrested by employees of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime for taking bribe.
According to a communiqué from the Center, the suspect, together with another person who has not been yet identified, asked for and received €2,000, claiming he has influence on employees of the company and can help the denouncer to be employed as a conductor, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A criminal case was started over traffic of influence. If the suspect is found guilty, he will be fined 20 000 to 60 000 lei or will be imprisoned for two to six years.
According to the Center, this is the 20th cases of the kind so far this year.
