21 persons compete for posts of BCC member
Twenty-one candidates have applied for the three vacant posts of member of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC), deputy head of the parliamentary commission on culture, education, research, youth, sport and mass media Corina Fusu stated for Info-Prim Neo.
The applications could be submitted between January 17 and February 18. “The commission is to decide when the contest will take place. Usually, the contest is public. Every member must poll at least seven votes to go through. Then the applicants are confirmed in Parliament by a simple majority of votes,” Corina Fusu said.
The Broadcasting Coordination Council is composed of nine members who are designated by the legislative body for a period of six years. The three posts were vacated by Carmelia Albu, Valeriu Soltan, and Ruslan Plesca as their terms in office expired. They cannot apply again for a consecutive term.
