One of the six halls of the poultry breeding company based in Sadova village of Calarasi district was fully destroyed in a fire on December 3. The flames extended on an area of over 600 square meters, killing 8,400 chickens, IPN reports.
The firefighters needed one hour to extinguish the blaze, said the press officer of the Civic Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan.
One of the employees of the company said the fire broke out when a staff member took the ash out of an improvised stove and threw it near a pile of wood. The wood caught fire and the flames extended to the hall with chickens. The damage caused by the fire hasn’t been yet determined. The company may take out a bank loan to restore the destroyed hall.
