The water utility Apa-Canal Chisinau (ACC) started disconnecting consumers with debts from the drinking water supply system. So far, 12 blocks of flats in Ciocana have been disconnected and 13 others are next, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a press statement of ACC, the disconnected blocks are located on Mircea cel Batran, Mihai Sadoveanu, Igor Vieru streets and in the suburbs of Vatra and Ghidighici. On Thursday, August 11, water supply will be cut in blocks on Voluntarilor, Isnovat, Vadul lui Voda, Mircea cel Batran, Igor Vieru, Milescu Spataru and Petru Zadnipru streets. The residents in these blocks have an overall debt of nearly 600,000 lei.
Vladimir Mocreac, head of the Customer Service of Apa-Canal Chisinau, says that the debt has grown because consumers refused to pay the difference between the block water meter and the personal meters.
The resumption of water supply will take place only after the block administrators negotiate a contract with Infocom municipal enterprise that includes the payment of at least 30% of debts and the rescheduling of debt for a clearly set period.
