The activities were organized by the National Public Health Center within World Health Day whose theme this year is “Depression: Let’s talk”, IPN reports.

In the first half of the day, there were staged activities to inform and sensitize the population to the effects of depression. The National Public Health Center improvised a kitchen of healthy food, promoting the consumption of fruit and vegetables.

According to Ecaterina Trestianov, psychologists of the Youth-Friendly Health Center of Botanica district, to avoid depression, it is important for the people to be attentive to their thoughts. “The people suffer from depression because they choose to think this way. When depression is experienced, it means that fury, anger and fear accumulated altogether. We should be careful to what we think and say,” she stated.

Project manager of the national doctor appointment scheduling service Docdoc Liliana Manii said depression can be overcome if the person realizes the gravity of the problem and uses the services of a specialist. “We also call on everyone to take care of their happiness, health, to eat healthily and do sport. By such activities, depression is avoided. The people face many problems and it is easy to reach a state of depression,” said Liliana Manii.

Luminita Suveica, director of the Chisinau Public Health Center, said that a series of activities to promote a healthy lifestyle and combat depression will be carried out in the course of April 1, 2017. “Depression is first of all a cause of suicide, which is met among young people, teens. There are many causes, when the people cannot cope with difficulties and suffer from depression. These include stressful life, the psycho-sociological climate and economic life. The untreated depression can have serious consequences,” she stated.
