Adrian Paunescu to become member of honor of Academy of Sciences
Poet Adrian Paunescu will be designated a member of honor of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova at the Academy's general assembly that will take place on August 30, on the Language Day, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Academy.
The poet will be thus rewarded for his contribution to the promotion of the cultural values, history and authentic national traditions, and the scientific truth about the Romanian language and literature in Moldova
Poet and politician Adrian Paunescu was born in Copaceni, Balti, on July 20, 1943. He established the literary club “Flacara” (“Flame”) and then worked as director of the journal “Flacara”. In 1990, he founded the journal “Totusi iubirea” (“Love on first place”). He is the author of over 50 volumes of poems, essays and discourses that were issued in 1 million copies. This is a record number for a living Romanian poet.
