Air show on Independence Day will not take place

The air show promised by the authorities will not be staged on the Independence Day marked on August 27. Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Moldovanu, who heads the commission responsible for the organization of the August 27 events, has told Info-Prim Neo that the plane that was to fly over the Great National Assembly Square did not meet the necessary technical conditions. “Civil Aviation officials told us that the plane cannot receive flight authorization. At first, they assured us that everything will be fine, but when steps began to be taken they established the plane did not meet the requirements,” said Mihai Moldovanu. The air show was to take place after the military parade. The plane provided by a private company was to fly over the central square of Chisinau and drop butterflies with greeting messages for the Moldovan people. It was also to produce smoke of the colors of the tricolor.
