All the courts of law in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia at the start of next year will have the infrastructure necessary to implement the justice reform, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in the official reopening of the Comrat Court of Appeals after extensive repair, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Justice. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim, chairman of the Supreme Council of Magistrates Nicolae Timofti, the Bashkan of Gagauz-Yeri Mihail Formuzal and other representatives of the state administration, the judiciary and the prosecutor’s office. Approximately six million lei from budgetary resources was invested in the repair. The works were performed in several stages so as not to interrupt the regional court’s activity. Comrat Court of Appeals president Elena Lazarev thanked the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Council of Magistrates and the Government for their effort, saying the judges now have all the conditions for doing justice and ensuring the observance of human rights. Vlad Filat reminded that the Government had earlier invested money in the repair of the Comrat court and in the construction of a new head office of the Ceadir-Lunga court. The repair works at the court in Vulcanesti will be completed at the start of 2012. Thus, all the courts in Gagauzia will have the infrastructure needed to implement the justice reform. Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim said the central public authorities offered the magistrates in Comrat everything they need to do their job in strict compliance with the legal and moral norms so that the people’s confidence in injustice is restored. Currently, 20 courts of law in the country are under extensive repair. 50% of all the courts have been already renovated and outfitted with the equipment needed to work in accordance with the European standards.
