The authorities promise that modern canteens will be built in all the schools of the country by September 1, 2025. A sum of 200 million lei will be allocated for the purpose by an 8 billion lei budget amendment called +PLUS Budget by the Government, IPN reports.

"All schools will have modern canteens so that we will be ready to provide free meals in secondary schools as from September 1, no matter what region they are in. I remind that it is an initiative of President Sandu," Prime Minister Dorin Recean said at a press conference.

The money will be allocated for all the schools. A number of 155 schools are situated in Chisinau and the other 1,046 schools are located in districts. "In order to start as soon as possible the projects and investments planned in this budget and to complete them by the end of the year, we need the assistance and cooperation of Parliament," said Dorin Recean. On Friday, the relevant draft law will be presented in Parliament.
