The Chisinau City Hall announced that 1.7 million lei would be alloted for the renovation of the alley on Mircea cel Batran Avenue in the district of Ciocana. IPN learned from an informative note of the municipal authorities that works are already underway on the segment between the Ginta Latina and Petru Zadnipru streets, on a surface of 5200 square meters.

Afterwards, the renovation will continue beyond the Zadnipru street. The works are carried out by the Exdrupo municipal enterprise and should be completed by the end of September. Ciocana district head Galina Bostan told IPN that the renovation project includes the repair of sidewalks, replacing the asphalt and curbstones.

“We will also improve street lighting, green spaces, repair or change damaged benches and garbage bins. We would like to do more, but it depends on the budget or on how much money we’ll be left with at the end”, explained Bostan.

The Mircea cel Batran Avenue was named Kutuzov until 1991. It starts from the roundabout intersection with Alecu Russo, but its other end has no intersection or edifice, only a roundabout return endpoint. It was rebuilt in the 1980s.
