Alternative in providing dwellings to certain groups of people
The annulment of the state's obligation to provide dwellings to judges, prosecutors, information and security officers, police officers and other groups of people while in office could be offset by offering an alternative, Info-Prim Neo reports.
As the Parliament adopted a number of amendments to the legislation to annul the given obligation, the executive supported the initiative legislative tabled by MP Alexandru Tanase, which defines this alternative.
The MP suggests modifying article 12 of the Law of May 4, 2007 on the administration and denationalization of the public property so as to allow the central and local public authorities to approve and implement programs to build dwellings for the mentioned groups on the available plots manged by them.
The alternative mechanism will oblige the state to provide dwellings to certain groups of people and could be extended to other groups of beneficiaries so as to stimulate employment in public institutions and prevent the leaving of highly qualified employees.
The mechanism will also stimulate the authorities and the public institutions to create their own housing fund and the employees that do not have apartments or cannot afford renting them.
