Anna Odobescu to represent Moldova at Eurovision Song Contest 2019

Ana Odobescu won the national Eurovision final held on March 2 with the song “Stay” and will thus represent Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 that will be hosted by Tel Aviv this May, IPN reports.

Ana Odobescu got the highest score following the adding up of the televoting results and the jury votes. She obtained 10 points from the public and 12 points from the jury, winning with a score of 22 points. Moldova competes fifth in the second Eurovision semifinal on May 16. The grand final will take place on May 18.

At the last year’s edition of Eurovision, the Moldovan band “DoReDoS” finished tenth with the song “My Lucky Day” with a score of 209 points. In 2017, the band “SunStroke Project ranked third with “Hey Mamma!”, which was Moldova’s best position at Eurovision ever. In 2005, “Zdob şi Zdub” took the sixth spot with “Boonika bate doba”.

Moldova has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2005.
