The announcement that pensioners have to pay at the post office for translation is false, said Moldova’s Post Office. In a public message, the institution rejects any information related to the payment of postal services, IPN reports.
The state-owned enterprise "Moldova’s Post Office” assures that it offers free services "to all citizens, both in Romanian and in all other local languages - Russian, Gagauz, Ukrainian, Bulgarian".
The enterprise denied the fact that pensioners are asked to pay for translations, noting that there is no fee at the post office for providing services to pensioners.
According to the announcement circulated on social media, a fee of US$10 per hour is set for pensioners for the translation service on the grounds that the service is available only in Romanian.
According to the Government’s spokesman Daniel Veda, the government communicators determined that the false information appeared on a Telegram channel "that frequently spreads disinformation".
