Investments of 2 billion lei for roads

The state will allocate 2 billion lei for road repair. The money is part of an 8 billion lei amendment of the budget called +PLUS Budget, IPN reports.

It goes to the rectification of the state budget for the current year as a result of the support provided by the European Union and the EU member states, Prime Minister Dorin Recean told a press conference, which he held together with Deputy Speaker of Parliament Doina German.

"We approve today the +PLUS Budget, the largest financial package ever allocated by the Government of the Republic of Moldova for investments and economic growth," said Premier Recean.

Of the 2 billion lei intended for roads, 1 billion lei will go to rehabilitate local roads in about a hundred localities.

With the other 1 billion lei, regional and district roads will be repaired over a length of about 200 km.

The budget amendments are to be approved at Thursday’s meeting of the Cabinet. On Friday, Prime Minister Recean will go to present the draft law in the plenary session of Parliament.
