Arrest warrant for Ion Perju extended for another 45 days
The warrant for the house arrest of suspended police officer Ion Perju was prolonged for another 45 days, prosecutor Vladimir Mosneaga, who is investigating the case, has told Info-Prim Neo. Ion Perju cannot leave his home by January 19.
Vladimir Mosneaga said he demanded extending the warrant for 90 days, but the judge decided to validate it for 45 days more.
Ion Perju is accused of beating Valeriu Boboc, who died in the Great National Assembly Square after the April 7, 2009 protests. The police officer was arrested on April 6, 2010. He pleads not guilty and claims that his former colleagues from the Criminal Police want to see him behind bars.
The warrant for Ion Perju's arrest expires on December 6. The decision to extend it was taken during a hearing on December 2. The next hearing will take place at the Buiucani Court on December 17.
