A drunk tractor driver who was to perform snow removal works in Centru district violated the traffic rules and damaged a fence in Chisinau in the morning of January 11. The police had to use guns during the arrest, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the General Police Commissariat, two police officers saw how the tractor damaged a fence at the intersection of the streets Tighina and Mitropolit Varlaam and then continued to move chaotically along Stefan cel Mare Blvd. The officers tried to stop the driver, but the man did not react and continued his dangerous maneuvers. In order to prevent traffic accidents, the policemen had to use their arms. They fired several warning shots and aimed two shots at the tires. The tractor stopped on LuncaBacului St in Botanica district. The 21-year-old driver is from AneniiNoi district. He was taken to the Ciocana Police Commissariat for questioning and will be investigated for driving under the influence. The young man is liable to a fine of 8,000 to 10,000 lei and may be banned from driving a vehicle for a period of 3 to 5 years. He may also be investigated for hooliganism.
