The autumn vacation of the school students starts on October 31, which falls on a Thursday, and ends on November 3, which is Sunday. It will be by three days shorter than the previous years, when it lasted for a week. The spring vacation will be by two days shorter, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Ministry of Education, the vacations were shortened because of the large number of national holidays that are celebrated on workdays. Thus, the period of time allocated for teaching activities will be shorter. The length of the Christmas and Easter vacations remained the same.

Under the Education Law, the school year has 35 weeks or 175 days. Owing to the national holidays, the previous school year had only 166 days, by nine days fewer. For this reason, there were introduced additional hours so as to manage to teach all the planned lessons.
