Ten young people who asserted themselves in science and technique, literature and arts in 2014 were awarded in a ceremony staged by the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport in the evening of December 5, IPN reports.
The Gala of Laureates of the Municipal Youth Award was at its 19th edition. The Division’s deputy head Valentina Cujba said that by staging this contest they aim to stimulate and promote the intellectual-artistic potential of the young people from the municipality of Chisinau. “There were selected the most valuable works and the candidates who achieved special results in different areas, who became laureates of a number of national and international contests. This year, unlike the previous years, there were submitted more works in the area of science,” she stated.
The competing works were assessed by a commission that consisted of experts and personalities. The winners got a diploma and a money award of 10,000 lei. There were also offered special prizes of 2,000 lei.
The winners in science and technique are: Alexandr Cocemasov – physics; Vitalie Varzari – political sciences; Stanislav Copetski – criminal law; Elena Nirean – economy and management in agriculture; Natalia Osadci, Eugen Voinitski – veterinary medicine; Tatiana Palamarciuc – chemistry; Maria Beldiga – informatics. In literature and arts, the awardees are: Alexandru Cosmescu – literature, and Diana Decuseara-Onica – acting.
The special prizes went to Ghenadii Gubceac – physics, Iulia Vacarenco – administrative law, Grigore Bataru – vegetal genetics, Maria Pilchin – literature, and Valeria Cebotariova – dramaturgy and direction.
For the first time this year, there were awarded prizes for civic activism to young people who worked as volunteers, contributing thus to the implementation of youth policies in the municipality of Chisinau. These are: Octavian Ciobanu, Daniela Cojocaru, Corina Braga and Elena Rusu, who represent the local Children’s and Youth Council.
