Bill to create judicial police to be submitted to Government

Acting Minister of Justice Vladimir Cebotari said that the judicial police could be created in 2016 to ensure the security of the courts of law. A bill to this effect was drafted and is to be considered by the Government, IPN reports.

“Such an initiative was made public several years ago. The given bill is now being finalized and will be submitted to the Government for approval and then to Parliament for adoption,” said Vladimir Cebotari.

The president of the Supreme Council of Magistrates Victor Micu drew attention to the need to create the judicial police, saying there are many cases, including civil ones, when the passed judgment causes heated debates and the situation can degenerate.

The acting minister noted that the judicial police, which could start work in 2016, should involve about 160-200 officers.
