A bogus bomb threat this morning forced the closure of the Chisinau International Airport, which was reopened when a two-hour search revealed nothing, Info-Prim Neo reports. Interior Ministry's spokesperson Eugen Onica said a man called at around 5:10 to make the threat. A bomb disposal squad and 902 teams were deployed immediately as passengers and airport personnel were being evacuated. No explosives were discovered during the search that lasted more than two hours. The phone number used in the threat was identified to be from Chisinau. A man is now being interrogated. The Airport's marketing officer Galina Telpiz told Info-Prim Neo the closure affected about 600 passengers on 6 flights, to Munich, Bucharest, London/Frankfurt, Timisoara, Moscow and Sochi, which had to be delayed by two hours. Now the Airport has reopened. The responsible faces a fine of up to 10,000 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service, or up to 2 years in prison.
