Case against Veaceslav Tarna is ridiculous, Dorin Chirtoaca

The case opened against the head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Veceslav Tarna is ridiculous and continues the series of intimidations against the local public administration, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said. At the meeting of the municipal services on Monday, he said that the case is baseless. “Any of the subdivisions of the City Hall can be blamed for something because there is always place for better, but this does not mean that what is happening now is a normal thing,” Dorin Chirtoaca stated, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Veaceslav Tarna is accused of causing damage of about 70,000 lei to the municipal budget by purchasing traveling warrants for the minibus drivers working on routes in Chisinau, though, as the Chisinau Prosecutor’s Office says, this is the duty of the Transport Agency of Moldova. According to deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu, in a letter issued in response to the City Hall’s inquires, the Transport Agency says that it has never bought traveling warrants either for the municipal authorities or for other economic entities working in Moldova. The case is being examined, Nistor Grozavu said. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Veaceslav Tarna said that he does not want to comment yet on the case opened against him. Tarna is now on sick leave.
