The investigation into the case of the former vice president of the Chisinau Court of Appeals Gheorghe Cretu is close to an end. The case will be sent to court immediately after the sides familiarize themselves with the materials of the criminal case. Acting prosecutor general Andrei Pantea has told IPN that there is no deadline by which the sides must analyze the materials, but in case of a delay the prosecutor can set the date when the case is to be sent to court.
At the start of April, Gheorghe Cretu was charged officially. He is accused of accidentally shooting businessman Sorin Paciu during hunting in the natural reserve “Padurea Domneasca” on December 23, 2012.
The case also involves three employees of the reserve, who were charged on four counts, including abuse of power, forging of public documents, making of untruthful statements, and constraining to making untruthful statements.
Gheorghe Cretu is investigated on the outside.
