Over 200 persons announced they will go on the Centenary March from Alba Iulia to Chisinau on July 1. The route is 1,300 km long and was divided into 11 stages of five days each. The last stage will end on September 1, IPN reports, quoting the organizers.
The event will start with the lighting of the Union Flame by representatives from 1,000 communities of Moldova and Romania in front of the Orthodox Cathedral in Alba Iulia as of 8pm.
“We invite all those who consider that 2018 should be a year of the unity, of a mobilizing country project that represents a decisive drive for Romania’s union with Moldova to take part in at least one stage of the Centenary March. We will cross the Carpathians and the Prut to announce the approaching of the Reunion,” said George Simion, head of the unionist platform “Actiunea 2012”.
