Experts and politicians consider there are almost no chances for a new Leanca Government to be voted in on February 12. The issue was discussed in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on the public radio station “Radio Moldova”, IPN reports.
Journalist Valeriu Renita considers the PCRM and the PL will not vote for a Government headed by the current Prime Minister. “The Communists said it clearly that they will not vote, while the Liberals put forward conditions that will not be accepted. The two days asked by Leanca to present the government program requested by the PCRM are nothing else, but a delay. Iurie Leanca is waiting for the EU’s intervention, especially for pressure on the part of Bucharest. But we should not forget the statement made by the EU Ambassador in Chisinau Pirkka Tapiola, who said that the color of the cat does not matter much. The important thing is for this cat to catch mice,” he stated.
Constitutional law expert Vitalie Catana considers the Government could be invested by the second round. “The Liberals imposed conditions that weren’t fulfilled, while the Communists gave contradictory signals. The fact that the Government will not be voted in on Thursday is not so serious. If the law allows rerunning the procedure for investing the Government, this is something normal for a democracy,” stated Catana.
Vitalia Pavlicenco, who heads the National Liberal Party, considers that if the Liberals vote for the Leanca Government, they will assume responsibility for the future Cabinet’s failures and mistakes. “The joy will be a short-term one. We do not think that Iurie Leancă will be the savior of the nation given the mistakes committed in the case of Banca de Economii and the Chisinau Airport,” she said.
