A benefit concert entitled “Music for Peace” will be held at the Palace of the Republic on April 15 in partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova. It is a project of cooperation between artists of the National Philharmonic and invited Ukrainian musicians. The proceeds will be donated in support of Ukraine, IPN reports.
The performance will involve the Academic Choir “Doina” managed by artistic director and principal conductor Ilona Stepan, the Symphonic Orchestra of the National Philharmonic managed by principal conductor Mihail Agafița, soloists Tatiana Costiuc (soprano), Elena Demirdjean (soprano), Victoria Nichitcenko (soprano), Constantin Moscovici (panpipe) and Igor Znatokov (saxophone).
The invited conductors are Vyacheslav Redya and Vyacheslav Cernuho from Ukraine, while Andrei Porubin will act as emcee.
“We want to delight the public with a charity concert dedicated to peace, hope and joy all over the world. We support the campaign “Moldova for PEACE” and, together with artists of the Philharmonic and with invitees from Ukraine, hope to bring the serenity of spring to the souls of those attending,” said the Embassy of Ukraine.
Tickets costs 200 lei apiece and can be bought from the ticket office (phone number 079740275), from the Philharmonic’s website or through Itiket.
The performance starts at 6pm.
