Chirtoaca: Lack of majority in CMC hampers work of local authorities

The lack of a majority in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) hampers the work of the local authorities, said Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca. According to him, the councilors asserted that they will support the formation of a majority at municipal level, but when an agreement was discussed, everyone was against.

“The declarations are unfounded and sterile. Currently, the CMC must work strictly based on the agenda and the submitted proposals. There is no other work method. The Liberal-Democrats have been invited to discussions for two years,” said the mayor, quoted by IPN.

Dorin Chirtoaca stated that if the councilors wanted to form a majority in the Council, they would form it. As to the referendum on his dismissal, the mayor said it is a political move.

The mayor urged the 26 concurs of the Liberal Democratic Party, the Democratic Party and the Liberal Party to publicly sign the agreement on the formation of an alliance in CMC.
