Chisinau authorities launch “Recognition and Gratitude” drive

The Chisinau authorities have initiated the drive “Recognition and Gratitude” aimed at expressing gratitude and helping the young people who have been maltreated during the April events to rehabilitate psychologically and morally. Trips to cultural and historical places in Romania will be organized as part of this event, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Public Relations Division of the Chisinau City Hall. The first group of 40 young persons, who are students of Chisinau education establishments, returned from Romania last night. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca voiced hope that the young people got only positive impressions. During November 3-9, the young people traveled to a number of Romanian cities, including Busteni, Sinaia, Bucharest and Brasov. They visited the Victoria and Cotroceni Palaces and had meetings with officials of the Romanian Foreign and Youth Ministries. The drive “Recognition and Gratitude” is supported by the Department for Romanians from Everywhere. There will be organized two more trips. The next group left for Romania on Tuesday afternoon. The Chisinau City Hall calls on the young people maltreated by the police during the April events to report the abuses to the City Hall and to the parliamentary commission for the investigation of those events.
