Chisinau can start heating season whenever needed
The Chisinau housing sector, medical and education institutions are 100% ready for the new heating season, deputy mayor Vlad Cotet announced at a meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Cotet, the piping system has been cleaned and 501 of the 1,560 apartment buildings run by the municipal companies signed technical permits for being connected to the centralized heating system.
“The heating system will be turned on when the temperatures will be plus 8 degrees Celsius on average during three days,” Vlad Cotet said.
At the same meeting, the commercial director of the heat supplier SA Termocom Mihai Arusoi said that the temperature in apartment buildings this year will be regulated in a centralized way, depending on the whether conditions. The responsibility will be shifted from the building administrators onto the employees of Termocom, who will work through the agency of the thermoelectric power plants. Arusoi also said that all the Chisinau consumers can be connected to the heating system within 10 days.
Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that the decision to open the heating season will be taken during the next days. He also said that the heating charge for the 2009-2010 season will remain 540 lei /Gcal. Termocom insists that the charge be raised to 798 lei/Gcal. However, it will be the Chisinau Municipal Council that will take the final decision.
