The March 1 meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council was stopped after four hours and postponed to March 12. The councilors managed only to agree the meeting’s agenda, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Council could not reach a consensus about the inclusion of the 2013 draft municipal budget, which is to be adopted in the second reading, in the agenda. Another item that couldn’t be included was the approval of new local taxes. In the next meeting, the councilors will continue the discussions on a decision concerning the amendment of the regulations on the construction of attic-like apartments. It is proposed obliging the contractors to obtain the consent, by signature, of all the residents of the building where they intend to build the attic-like apartments. Now it is needed only the signatures of the owners of the apartments situated on the last floor. After the meeting, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca and a number of councilors went to “Valea Morilor” Park to take part in the spring cleanup activities launched on March 1.
