The Chisinau administration is considering completing the construction of an unfinished attic-like apartment storey on an apartment building instead of the construction company. The construction works stopped over half a year ago and the company does nothing to finish them, IPN reports.

Petru Gontea, head of the Chisinau Public Amenities Division, said the company erected only the body of the storey on the building situated at 11 G. Cosbuc St and was then unable to continue the works. The municipality should take over the construction and carry out works to conserve it. A sum of 750,000 lei is needed for protecting the block from rain and snow.

According to Gonea, in 18 months of the taking over of the works to finish the attic-like apartment storey, the Chisinau City Hall may become the storey’s owner.

In this connection, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that if the construction company does not continue the works in the near future, the situation of the block located at 11 G. Cosbuc St should be considered force majeure. Thus, the money for building it will be allocated from the municipality’s reserve fund.
