The inhabitants of Chisinau municipality will be supplied with heat in a centralized way for at least one more week because the temperatures during the next few days are expected to decrease, IPN reports.

Deputy mayor of Chisinau in charge of the heat supply Vlad Cotet Monday said that some dwellers already asked turning down the supply of heat, but this will not yet happen as the temperatures are forecast to drop to minus 4 degree Celsius. 

Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that until the supply is fully disconnected, the consumption of heat is to be reduced. He asked the public heat utility to monitor the process so as to avoid accidents.

The 2014 – 2015 heating season started on October 14 for education and health institutions and on October 21 for the housing sector. The heat supply is tuned off when the nighttime temperatures are higher than 8 degrees Celsius during three consecutive nights.
