The residents and guests of the capital city will be able to see the Christmas tree set up in the central square of Chisinau until Monday, January 14, inclusive. On Tuesday, the tree will be taken away from the Great National Assembly Square. Eliferii Haruta, head of the green areas managing association “Spatii Verzi”, has told Info-Prim Neo that as every year the tree will be taken down on January 15. The decorations will be kept in the association’s storerooms, while the lights at the municipal company “Lumteh”. After it is undecorated, the Christmas tree will be taken to a plant to be processed. Its wood will be used to make or repair benches in the parks of Chisinau. Eliferii Haruta said the wood of a tree of such a size can be used to repair about 10 benches. The fir tree was put in the Great National Assembly Square at the beginning of December. The Chisinau City Hall bought it from a family living in Posta Veche quarter for 15,000 lei. The tree is about 50 years old.
