The church “Miracle of Archangel Michael” located in Parcani village of Soroca district started to burn on Wednesday. Eight firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene, IPN reports.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said the fire broke out inside the church and the building was filled with smoke. Firefighters managed to localize the fire during about an hour and fully extinguished it in another half an hour.

According to the Inspectorate, the fire destroyed a church area of 15 square meters. No casualties were reported.

The cause and circumstances of the fire are yet to be determined.
